Mark began his investment career in 1996, working in equity research for a large investment bank in New York. During part of his tenure, he worked with the firm’s Chief Equity Strategist, where Mark focused on applying academic research and quantitative investment methods to portfolio construction. Mark has subsequently served as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for three other firms, including the one he started in 2008. He has managed portfolios for individual investors, larger institutions, and corporate retirement plans. As a recognized thought leader in the investment management industry, Mark has been quoted on investment matters in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Financial Times, and numerous other publications. He has written articles and delivered presentations on factor investing, exchange traded funds, and alternative investments to professional investor groups across the country. Mark has been an active volunteer in the not-for-profit sector, including serving as President of the CFA Society of Rochester on two occasions.
